Content: This 6-week session places emphasis on socialization including play with other puppies, interaction with humans, and handling. Puppies learn skills such as: sit, look, down, come, loose leash walking, stay, and give. Information is provided on issues such as house training, inappropriate mouthing and biting, jumping and more. You'll learn how to prevent unwanted behavior and establish a bond with your puppy using positive reinforcement methods.
Age: Puppies must be 5 months or younger on the FIRST day of class.
Prerequisite: Puppies must be age-appropriately vaccinated; Dogs must be healthy including being free from internal and external parasites (including fleas, ticks, worms, etc).
Schedule: Classes meet once a week for 6 consecutive weeks on the same day of the week and at the same time all 6 weeks unless otherwise noted. Classes are 45 minutes in length.
Week 1 of Class: The first week of class is for HUMANS ONLY - NO DOGS.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are a CT Humane Society adoptee with prepaid Mandatory Training, this may only be used for classes in Newington. The general public is always welcome at any of the facilities.
