Disc Dog Foundation Workshop
Content: This one day workshop will focus on teaching you and your canine partner the foundations of the sport of disc dog, which may include: different disc grips and releases, proper throwing technique, drive building, safety considerations for humans and canines, canine foundations (rollers, takes, retrieves, drops), set up moves, freestyle tricks and sequence/routine building, rules of the game, etc. Each team will get some individualized training from the instructor based upon their skill level.
Your dog does not need to know how to catch airborne discs in order to attend. There are a variety of techniques to teach your dog to catch, so don’t despair. Your dog, however, must be interested in playing with and chasing toys.
Prerequisites: Dogs must be age-appropriately vaccinated; Dogs must be healthy including being free from internal and external parasites (including fleas, ticks, worms, etc); Dog & Handler must have completed Intermediate Dog & Handler.
Schedule: 10am - 4pm with lunch break.
